Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 20 & bonus

Woohoo! This is the last challenge, and I have completed every single one! I am so happy to have gotten so much done this month and to have made a dent in my stash!!!

This challenge was to use themed paper in a non-traditional way. I'm really happy with how it turned out--I love the way the colors in the photos match the papers. And I never, ever would have used this paper without the challenge.

The bonus challenge was to make a card from scraps:

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 19

The challenge here was to use at least 2 pieces of chipboard. I used some on the title and also the journaling frame. The sketch was just one page, but I had to expand it to use all my pictures. This kit was from September 2008.

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 18

I really love this sketch--it worked perfectly with my pictures, and my need to put a lot of pictures on a layout. The challenge was to use 2 old alphabets. I used rubons and stickers. The kit was from June 2007.

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 17

Today's challenge was to use diecut paper. Of course, I had some in my stash. But I don't think I've ever used a big diecut before. Now that I'm looking at the picture of my layout, I think I should have just stuck with one half of the diecut, rather than using it on both sides. But. I combined 2 sketches (today's & day 11's) to make a 2-page layout and I kind of thought the 2 halves of the flower would give it some continuity. That might have worked better if the 2 pieces were put together to make a whole. Ok. Lesson learned & stash used!

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 16

The challenge today was to use at least 4 photo corners, with 2 being used in a non-traditional way. I did that by making them into an arrow to point out Aiden in the crowd. Somehow I goofed and bought 2 of these kits from August 2007, which I just realized as I was going through my stash. This sketch was for just one page, but I expanded the layout so I could include the stuff I saved from the Mothers Day Tea Party.

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 15

This challenge was to use 3 different rub-ons. I was really happy to finally have another 2-page sketch--I've about used up all my picture sets of 2-3 pictures. This kit is from August 2006!

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 14

The challenge for today was to use at least one oversized element on the layout. This kit was from October 2007. I kind of think it was meant to be Christmas paper, which would mean this giant thing is maybe a snowflake? I don't know. It kind of looks like a bubble flower too. That's what we are going to call it. and yes, that is Aiden outside with friends, doing bubbles while wearing a shirt and boxers!

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 13

I am highly qualified for this challenge--to use old stickers! My stash of stickers is sickening. I can't believe I wasted so much money! When I started scrapping (1996), stickers were the only supply you could find anywhere, so when I found one I liked, I bought it with no thought about what I might ever use it for. Hence a huge notebook stuffed with really cute stickers. I should give them to my kids, but somehow that seems like more of a waste than sitting in a binder.

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 12

This challenge sounds so simple--to use 3 different punches. The problem is, I only own 5! And the 3 shapes I have are not compatible--heart, snowflake, circle. So I used the circle, a corner punch, and a corner rounder. This layout is not my favorite--the sketch was for 2 pictures but I tried to sqeeze 3 on and I'm not happy with how it turned out. But, it is done! The kit was from December 2007.

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 11

Today's challenge was to use at least 2 frames, and one couldn't be around a picture. The kit I used is from August 2008.

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 10

The challenge was to use heart paper. Mission accomplished! This kit was from February 2007! Yay, using up the really old stuff! Sorry about the bright spot in the photo - there is no natural light at this time of night!

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 9

This challenge was to drag out a holiday kit or papers. This one is from a December 2007 kit.

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 8

This challenge was to use at least 3 felt shapes. It was a bit of a stretch since the only felt shapes I have are for Easter...and then to make my easter pictures work with the sketch, oh whew. The kit I used was from March 2008.

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 7

Since this month of challenges is about using up stashed supplies, it is fitting that today's challenge was to use at least 12 eyelets. I did it, but not without mishap. I am going to throw all of my remaining eyelets away. I hate using them!

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 6

This challenge was to use 3 of my oldest papers. This kit was from March 2008.

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 5

This challenge was to use at least 8 (!!!) blossoms. I am pretty sure I have never done that before, at least on this scale! Thank you AS for pushing me outside my box!

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 4

This challenge was to use at least 5 brads and 5 buttons! The buttons I used are clear, so they are hard to see in the picture. This was a kit from July 2006.

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 3

Day 3's challenge was to use 3 different ribbons. This kit is from June 2008.

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 2

The challenge for Day 2 was to use 3 different alpha fonts.

Don't Stash It Challenge - Day 1

Apron Stings is having a month of challenges! It is perfect because I haven't scrapped in close to a year and I needed a challenge to get me moving. The challenge for Day 1 was to use my oldest kit. The oldest one I could find is from July 2006.
